Tempe’s First United Methodist Church has a 65+ space parking lot that neighbors Arizona State University. 


Tempe FUMC employed two lot attendants to collect cash payment. Unfortunately, they began having staffing pains when one of their lot attendants passed away. A few weeks later, their second lot attendant took off with the money.


The Challenge


Tempe FUMC leadership team needed a robust way to manage their lot that would require no effort on their part. From staffing lot attendants, manually collecting their visitors’ vehicle information, to calling tow trucks on illegal parkers, it was becoming a large burden. 


The question became how can FUMC collect non-cash payments and enforce against illegal parkers without any dedicated staff on-site? 



Solution


First, signs were installed in the FUMC parking lot directing the church’s visitors to validate their parking, and for the public to pay with the AirGarage app.

Tempe FUMC retains full control over the usage of their lot with the Lot Owner Dashboard. They can edit the availability of their lot for church events, track their net parking revenue payouts, and manage their registered visitor list.
